I have a box of about 45-50 different boxes of 22 ammo. Some quite old. Wize bang to imperials. Lots of stuff I don’t remember shooting. I think they would run from $4.00-15.00, but that is just a guess. If I was to sell as a lot should I average them at $7-8 or what do you think? I want to be fair to buyer and seller but don’t want to spend time selling one at a time. Does this seem realistic? Thanks AJ

Cant say without seeing it. The vast majority of 22LR is worth no more then new prices, much of it less then new because of its age and condition. So $5/box would be the high end for most of it.

An example - I bought a brick of Imperial (10 individual plastic boxes in one large carton) in absolute pristine condition for $25 recently at a gun show (last 18 months or so). Thats $2.50 a box.

I dont know pricing on the rarer stuff, but thats why you need a more detailed list. Imperial isnt really rare.

At 250 you are not collecting. I’d shoot it for that. There may not be a lot of people that collect boxes of 22 ammo. At gun shows here you won’t find a box of Wize Bang for less than $10.

Which is why you need a more detailed list of what you have. Most of it is probably only worth $2-3 a box. Their likely isnt enough $10/box stuff to pull the average up to $8/box.

Thats just my opinion. You asked. I think its unrealistic to expect any other answer without more detail.

Ammo collecting is not as popular today as it once was , much like older lever action Winchesters. At one time these were some of the main stays of the gun shows. Some older .22 ammo boxes like Wizbang may still have value if in mint condition. Gun show prices may still be high but we often see these older boxes of ammo come in with gun collections we buy and send it to gun auctions with very little return on investment. It's ammo so save it or shoot it...have fun. Phil.

Some certain boxes may have value but most want just the box not the ammo. Ive sold many boxes of ammo to collectors. Very few ever wanted the actual ammo. Rimfire in larger calibers is worth selling. 22 is not

A serious collector of any ammo, including .22, wants the best condition, full, possibly sealed box he can find. Post some pics of what you have...group shots are fine. If an actual collectible box, your base should be $5 and up from there. Some .22 boxes (full) will bring well over $100 at auction. A collector might buy an empty box to fill a hole, but full boxes are the money, when accompanied by scarcity and top condition.
