Hi all, I have a Colt 1878 revolver in .476 that I’m looking to make some rounds for. The barrel slugs out at just .448. Anyone here well versed in the 1878? It will chamber 45 Schofield and 45 Cowboy Special. I’m looking for a good bullet mold and some good data on whether I can use some smokeless loads (Unique, Bullseye, Trail Boss), or if I should just stick to black powder. I thought I might need a hollow base bullet, but from the bore slug, I think I’ll be good with .452 and pure lead.
