Hi everyone.

I will soon be inheriting a Colt 1900 in .38 ACP. I have read a lot of forums about this pistol (all from the US) and was wondering if anyone has had any personal experience with this particular handgun.

From what I can see, they are fairly rare (about 4000 made in NA) but didn't see anything as far as worth and or rarity on the Canadian side.

The gun has been certified as in firing condition by a gunsmith in the last year, and he is even giving me 200 rounds of .38 ACP Ammo for it.

Any 1900 experts out there? Any knowledge that you may have of these pistols to share is greatly appreciated.

Thanks

I don't have any personal experience with the 1900, but I do have a 1903 Pocket Hammer and a 1905. Very good shooting guns, though I do get a lot of FTEs with the 1903. The 1900 is a little more complicated to take apart but the instructions are available online. Does yours have the site safety or the fixed sight? Congratulations either way, they are very rare. Look up the unblinking eye gun pages, he has a number of articles on parallel ruler Colts.

It's the one with the sight safety, which makes it exceptionally rare, apparently. Can't wait for the CFO to approve it. Thanks for the advice, gents. The unblinking eye article was very informative.
