I have the Gold Cup Trophy model and was trying to sight it in today
I find that the windage adjustment on the rear sight which is to be adjusted by turning a screw either cw or ccw is very tight - to the point where I do not want to strip the head on the screw
Am I missing anything here or does it take a real effort to turn
The vertical adjustment works fine
Thanks

Shouldn't be that tight. Rather than worrying about stripping the head, I would worry more about snapping the screw off instead. Try spraying the screw with oil and then see if it loosen up. The screw threads are more than likely galled up.

Used penetrating oil and totally stripped down the rear adjustable sight.
There seemed to be a lot of drag in the channel for windage - probably a slight burr. Cleaned the channel and worked it until the windage was moving freely. Did the same for elevation. Both are now moving freely when turning the adjustment screws using a minimum torque on the screws.
Now have lots of adjustment.
Used locktite on the rear site when fastening it to the frame- just like the factory
All is well , will try sighting in again tomorrow
Thanks
