I know there are a lot of Colt 1911 owners out there so why not share some pictures of your Colts with us? Here's your chance to show off them beauties! Here's one of mine that I enjoy shooting often:

No doubt NAA! All beauties! Thor we are share your bug. I also have a few USGI models that I cherish. I don't shoot any of them to preserve their originality and condition for fear of wear and breakage but I'm glad to hear that you enjoy shooting yours. Thank you for sharing!

Danny! I'm jealous....You're missing a 1914 Canadian contract, a US Navy, a North American Arms, a Singer a..............:D:cool:

Hey NAA! Two questions for ya:

1. What is your opinion of the functionality of the lanyard loops coming off of the mags (vs., say, off of the mainspring housing - some of your guns have both)?

2. The last gun you show (1944) has two pictures, or does it?...in the final shot it looks like a 6.0 inch barrel - is it an optical illusion, or a different gun?

And, in general (to the forum at large), now that the old Colt is becoming worth more and more I am planning on not shooting it much - although I never really did - also in an attempt to preserve original parts etc. It has become more of a collectible investment than a shooter, but it's nice to know it's in top shape and ready to go.

I plan on shooting the new Dlask and letting the Colt rest comfortably within the dry, oily, cushy confines of my safe.
