Colt 1911 Combat Commander

So through some odd turn of events I've come into possession of an older Colt Commander. I've tried searching for more info on it but my google-fu is weak. I was wondering if anyone could help me find the manufacturing date and worth of this pistol? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The serial number is in the 9000-LW range. And this is the roll mark.

The Colt serial lookup will birthday your gun (Google it). As far as value, picture is weak although I can see the "Idiot scratch".
Throw out a few more images to show the rest of the finish on your gun.

LW means it doesn't have a steel frame. Combat Commander is the steel frame

You don't have a Colt Combat Commander you have a Colt Light Weight Commander.

Still a nice compact 1911 pistols. The design was for a lighter [aluminium] frame for easier CCW, where that's legal.

Yup, it's an actual Commander, not a Combat Commander - the frame is a light weight alloy, a Combat Commander has a steel frame.

Thank you guys, I really appreciate the input. Checked colt's website for serial number checks, and apparently it's a 1951 Commander.
