Colt 1911 Mark IV Series 80, reviews?

Hi,
Local seller has the above mentioned HG for sale in stainless, it looks really nice and I am considering it. I would like opinions on this (he wants 999.00 for it), also, how is it in comparison to a Springfield GI, Mil-Spec or any other lower end cost 1911. Was going to get a GI to go with my Ka-Bar originally
