I need help putting a value on a very good condition Colt 1911 mk IV gold cup national match series 80 pistol.

Pistol comes with original box, manual, tool and the 2 original colt marked mags.

It’s shown with a set of aftermarket VZ grips, but also comes with the original wraparound rubber grips with the colt medallion.

The gun is in a very good condition. A few very minor handling marks on the frame. Pictures don’t really do it justice.

Why is a series 70 more desirable than a series 80?

Purists like it and less moving parts that could equal a better trigger

S80 junk in Colt pistols have amounted to an ingenious solution to a non-existent problem....

Or shorter answer.... "because lawyers".

Guess you might tell I'm no fan of S80 safety do-dads in any of my 1911 pistols.

Blue '70 series Colt Gold Cup National Match 45's are the most desirable.
A used stainless steel GCNM with the 80 parts and the usual scuffs, scratches & dings........C$1000.00

I agree I would have a hard time paying over 1k because at $1300ish new there's the colt competition. Which from my understanding have the same barrel and in most hands would be just as accurate.

I think that is way under priced. That is a Gold Cup Trophy, in Stainless.

There is no way its worth less then $1600, heck you cant even buy the 1991 Gov'nt model for less then $1000 now.

Last time they made this exact model, its was in the 2k+ dollar amount. I even prefer the stainless model over blued, as its much easier to shoot and not show wear.

I dont know, if you guys are under pricing this on purpose just to get a deal on the EE. I dont think you estimates are correct at all.

There was 1911 colt gold cup stainless unfired on EE last week for $1500. It sold within the hour. If i didnt just buy a p226 elite stainless i would of been all over that colt. Amazing deal
