The S&W Model 52 (which was based on the S&W Model 39) has indeed been phased out in favour of the Performance Center Model 952 chambered in 9mm.

Here's a photo of my S&W Model 52-2:

It's a real sweet and insanely accurate shooter. I wish I had for time to get into bullseye style competition.

One of the bullseye shooters at the local gun club uses one of those and allowed me to try it. It went bang and spat bullets where I pointed it.

Does everyone on this board have the same rug?

there are also jim clark conversion kits out there, if you can get a hold of one

I haven't seen a new 52 for a while, maybe they still make them from their custom shop. They are good shooters. The real oddball from S&W is the Model 44 SA semi auto, very, very few made. I've never seen one in the flesh, so to speak. - dan

My two little closet queens. S&W 52-1 and Colt National Match. Both in 38 Spl. The Colt shoots circles around the Smith but that may be due to the added Bo-Mar sight. The Colt also just seems to fit the hand so much better too.
