Colt 1911 question

So just picked up a colt chat commander in 9mm. Was wondering if this has a government size frame? I went and slammed in a couple 1911 9mm mags and they are to short. When I slam in some np norc mags they work great.

Commander and Gov have the same frames, dust cover is a touch shorter on commander, but grip is the same. They use the same mags.
