I hear you. Profit had a bright stainless classic 1911 in 38 super a couple of months ago. Absolutely beautiful. If proper ammo was more readily available i may have sprung for it. still want one

no need- it's a simple barrel swap between 9mm and 38 super- to get it to feed properly you may need a 9mm mag, but the rest is a simple barrel swap- if you wanted to super fancy, you could put a 9mm top end on there, change out the recoil spring, etc- years ago g&a did a 5 caliber conversion - using a commander frame, they put on 45, 38 super, 9mm, 38/45 clerke, and 22 rf sub unit- and this was the OLD 38 super- the one that headspaced on the semi- rim- the new issue should be even easier- you can't use the normal 45 cause the ejector is in the wrong spot- you need the hooked ejector that comes on the 9mm/38 super

If you swap the barrel its no longer a 38super, you just neutered it.

38supers rock, I have a few myself

Take full advantage it using .356 projectiles

Here's a few of my 38 super colt's. There's a 1976 combat commander, a 2007 special combat government, a 2014 special combat government and a 1953 colt commercial.

Looks like you have one too many special combat governments ;-) Love em!

I have had the custom made back I the 80s by a Montana gunsmith Mike Johnson, back in the day before all the red tape. Amazing accuracy, and made major with a 115 grn projectile with literally no muzzle flip. Then she got retired when wide frames came in. Just recently gave her a new finish as she deserved it after 200k+ rounds.
