Colt 901 Owners/Operators

This was the rifle I poured over and did a ton of research on when studying for/taking my course and waiting for my license. I'd pick one up in a heartbeat if Canada got a run of them.

I don't think there is many 901 Operators in Canada. There is probably only a handful of rifles. Everytime I consider buying a firearm I always look at replacement part availability and tools to fix it. That's why I'm hesitant to buy a 901, even through I want one badly.

I agree, I didn't realize at the time that all the barrel "stuff" is proprietary, :(. so handguards and changing the barrel is a PIA, but I have one now. If I can get the wrench then Casey will have another Cerakote project, :). I guess I should have got the MR762, but the proprietary mags are a PIA as well.

The wrench would be a big asset, since I'd consider the MIL 13" barrel, either factory or after market?

I didn't realize Colt went the way of KAC with the 901.

I was really interested in both and went with the SR-25. Good to know both would of been a PITA to change rails or get replacement barrels for.

Here's a bit of an "updated" look for my 901, Cerakote to follow. While I didn't know what I was getting into, since I hadn't shot a A2 stock for a long time, it works with this rifle, much better than the collapsible stock IMO. Cheers

Just an "addendum" since the lower is compatible with a 5.56 upper, I'm guessing that a MK12 Mod 1 upper may be the next acquisition? One of the advantages for the 901 IMO.
