I have a 6" Colt Anaconda that shoots high with the rear sight bottomed out. Looking to get a slightly taller front sight but the only one I have been able to find is on a US website that does not ship to Canada. Anyone else have an issue with a new Anaconda shooting high? If so, were you able to find a taller front sight?

Sorry just corrected that as it's been a while since I shot it and wasn't thinking when I said it shoots low. lol It definitely shoots high, definitely need a taller front sight. Took it out twice when I got it a year ago. First time tried to sight it in with my standard 44 Mag loads I use in all my 44s and it was shooting like 6" high. Worked up to some max loads the next day and it was about 2" high. Apparently I'm not the only one with that issue in that gun.

I posted my sight formula a number of years back. I'll add it here if it helps figure out how tall your front sight needs to be, or vice versa.

POI - POA

M = S x D ÷ ( R x 12 )

Where:

M = amount of movement or change in sight height needed (in INCHES)
D = distance needed to move the bullet's strike to hit point of aim
R = range to target (in FEET)
S = distance between front edge of rear sight and rear edge of front sight blade (sight radius in INCHES)

Example:

Your sight radius is 5.7 inches and you need to move the bullet's strike 3 inches lower at 25 yards (75 feet):

M = 5.7 x 3 ÷ ( 75 x 12 ) = .019

Thus you need to raise the front sight (or lower rear sight) by .019 inches.

Good luck.

Yea there's a shop in the US that sells a front sight that is .025 taller but won't ship to Canada. lol

Only ones I can think of for Anaconda sights is Harrison Custom in Georgia and Wilson Combat. See if Harrison will ship up here.
Maybe try an importer. Wouldn’t cost any more than finding one in country after landed costs.
