I think it's a whole lot nicer then the kimber warrior and I would guess its shoots a whole lot better too. And come to think of it I bet it comes in at a lower price.

hmmm..i just bothered to watch the video. seems pretty nice, US markings nice collectors piece.

the video says that it'll be hand fitted by the colt custom shop which may put it in Springfield TRP Operator/Professional model territory in terms of $$$...
so being something that advertised as issued, probably a limited run, hand fitted - it'll be pricey - i wouldn't it be surprised that it'll cost well north of $2k, so by the time it gets to us canucks up here, it'll probably be significantly more (if we can get them)

Will the commercial model also come with the over priced, mil spec'd cracking frame? Personally I can't wait for all the army drop outs to buy this gun and brag how the most elite use it (like them). I am will to bet this was Colts real plan all along. Sell a few thousand to the army...sell 10s of thousands to people who want to PLAY soldier by having their very own matching gear!!!

I would rather have a Glock 21, FNP 45 all of which would have been better picks for half the price, if I was going to get a 1911 for that coin I would get a DW Razorback.

It doesn't matter what colour it is....Colt is still not there yet as far as competing with other brands at the same price point. They have finally updated the grip safety, but still lack features and over all fit and finish. I have had and still own Colt 1911's and would love to run one as my "daily driver"...fact is STI, Kimber, Dan Wesson, Springfield, just to name a few are much better product for the coin, and they will run.

Well said....like those guys who spend 600+ on tactical gear to play airsoft with.

It's a railed Colt and a "special" model so I'm going to assume it'll be AT LEAST $1200 US MSRP, over $1500 for us. No front strap checkering? I know some people don't care about this but I consider it a requirement (more necessary than front slide serrations) and think it's pretty lame that a gun of this level would not have it.

On a positive note, really liking the undercut triggerguard, I wish this was a more common feature.
