An AR mag by any other name should feed the same.
since someone brought up mags.... 
Some mags don't work as well as others, ie. feed problems. Is it the lower that causes this?(Mags don't fit right) Or the Upper?(Mags don't line up properly to feed) or a combo of both??
example. If I had a lower. And 3 different branded uppers. If a mag works with one lower/upper combo...it should work with all of them.
(can you tell I am new to Ar's)

combo of any and all of the above.
IF the mag is in spec, the lower is in spec, and the upper is in spec you should be gtg. However when you buy some parts from the lesser quality AR makers your not necessarily getting spec
