If you’re interested in AR-15 rifles, Canadian firearms or special-forces weapons, you might enjoy Chris Bartocci’s analysis of a rifle that Colt Canada Corp. developed for Britain’s Special Air Service.

It's the C8 Special Forces Weapon (SFW) from "about" 15 years ago. (I can't remember what he said.)

He goes over design, engineering, materials, manufacturing, history, relations between Colt USA, Colt Canada/Diemaco, and Canadian government. He also shows a Bravo Company USA clone available to U.S. civilians.

I can't evaluate the content, but he sounds serious and knowledgeable.

I have a few quotes from the Dec. 26 video on my blog.

I really like his videos. Full of interesting information and they are very comfy to watch as opposed to some more obnoxious channels.

He isn't doing a review of the Colt Canada C8, or any other version of the Colt Canada rifle.

He is doing a review of the BCM clone of the rifle, and compares it to an actual C8 SFW upper. Apples to oranges.

That is actually a non- SAS C8 SFW. The SAS one has a different sleeve. The one he has looks like the sleeve used on C8A3/SFW for Canada. The gas block is also the regular gas block, not the SAS one for taking the HK launcher. The HK Launcher does not latch on the barrel sleeve.

SAS also has the L119 before 2002. I remember seeing pictures of SAS in Afghanistan with the original L119 in 2001. They were the first on the ground after 911.

I'm way out of my depth here. Happy to be wrong. It sounded to me like he thinks he's holding a C8 SFW for the SAS, and a BCM clone.

Can you tell if he made a mistake, or if I misunderstood?

He sounds like he knows his stuff, and so do you !
