Folks, have a query here. A friend bought a magpul CC lower. He manually cocks the hammer then press trigger easing it forward. Then while the trigger is pulled back, he then cocks the hammer to catch with disconnector. But as he was doing this, the disconnector moves down with spring tension below it..... but when it catches with the hammer, the trigger has to move forward a bit. Even when the disconnector spring is fully compressed, it was not enough to catch the hammer.

This is not the case with my 6920 though, with trigger fully pressed, I #### the hammer and press down until it catches with disconnector while trigger is fully held back.

Does this mean he has an out-of-spec disconnector or somehow the FCG is not assembled correctly?

There is no such thing as a magpul CC lower. It may be a CC stripped lower that someone built themselves.

Also, it's not clear what you mean.

With the hammer up, squeeze the trigger to the rear and hold it. Push the hammer down with the palm of your hand (keeping trigger held to the rear).

The hammer should be retained by the disconnect on the upper inner notch. Release the trigger and the hammer should be retained by the engagement of the trigger on the lower notch.

If either of these last two don't occur as described, the trigger mech is installed incorrectly, has an incompatible parts combination, or some parts are not serviceable.

I think he is referring to the new mrr lowers that come with magpul furniture.

The hammer will only be retained by the disconnect only when the trigger is release a bit forward from fully pressed.

On another forum, they advised to check the disconnector spring might be upside down.

That would have no effect. There is likely something wrong with it. Don't fire it. Take it to a qualified armourer.

It does. The disconnector spring is tapered, larger end goes into the trigger. So if that end goes other way around then there's not enough clearance even when spring is fully compressed.
