Saw a thread yesterday late PM on CC's forum. Title was "Rollmark question on my SA20" IIRC. The OP stated that he took delivery of his new SA20 but it was missing the SA20 rollmark on the left side of the lower between the Maple leaf & 5.56mm.... I had a chance to reply in the thread asking if it was possible to see detailed pics of the OP's rifle but the thread was deleted (removed) minutes later.

I would love to see pictures of this rifle, or any SA's with missing rollmarks... So OP of the original thread, or anyone, if you could shime in, it would be greatly appreciated.

I know this is going to pop up.

As far as I was told, this is NOT a call by Colt Canada's rep here at CGN. It is someone's else decision.

The Colt Canada rep is 100% behind maintaining a strong presence at CGN, but he has to do what he is told AFAIK.

Just like the army, you don't have to like it, you just have to do it.

So no updates from CC anymore?

My guess it that there will be update when there is something to update (i.e. new product)
If you had followed some of the old threads, the same questions were asked over and over again...

Wow, that sucks. I think Matt's presence on CGN really helped improve people's perception of Colt Canada and Diemaco rifles. Too bad it looks like he's being muzzled.

CC is not in the business of dealing with the public and I for one am not really surprised that someone felt that some of the attention was not in line with the professional military/LE image that they strive to maintain. Some people just didn't seem to grasp that they do not exist to provide products to the public and that we were very lucky to receive what we have from them already.

There is no such thing as a sa20 "roll mark" rather it is an "sa20" laser engraving. Technicality I know. But the point is there is no difference between an sa20 or sa15.7 or c8 semi auto lower.

They are all the same forging and mill work. In this case it would appear the laser engraving was left off the lower. Cool mistake.

That's too bad. I really liked CC's post. It was nice having a firearm manufacturer that spoke TO us, and not at us.

Also, I don't get Colts attitude here. There will come a day when the military switches firearms. And if it isn't Colt Canada, they're going to need other points of sale. You'd think, when the brand is actually built, and the firearms have reached the cult status they have you'd want to nurture that, if even for public good will!

It's really strange too, considering they are a Colt subsidiary, and Colts attitude in the U.S. is so much different.

You wonder how much a Liberal beaurocrat got involved here..... "Smarten up Colt! Firearms owners are EVIL! We've already indoctrinated you into Liberal group think! NO SOUP FOR YOU!".

Rollmarks, laser engraving or etching... You know what I meant. Cool mistake indeed, I'm wondering if there's lots of lowers that left CC's factory w/o them.

FYI it's not about the physical difference between the MIL/LE & civilian lowers that I was questionning since I know damn well that they come from the same forgings and mill work (I've handle quite a few myself) but the "mistake" made by the QC dept. when they let this or these un-etched lower(s) slip and, of course, the definate collector value it will have down the road.

Thinking about starting a Colt Canada SA20 & SA15.7 thread hoping we could recoup the vast majority of what was lost in the CC forum, what you guys think?
