I'm pretty sure when the CF, foreign military or police force buys a rifle from CC they are buying weapons. That's what they refer to them as, weapons.

OP - at this time Colt Canada has two rifles for sale to the public. The SA20 (20 inch barrel) and SA15.7 (15.7 inch barrel) which are civilian equivalents (minus the select fire capability) to the Canadian Forces C7 and C8 rifles.
They are quite expensive but apparently there has just been a discounted pricing deal for serving and former members of the CF and law enforcement? No clue on the details of the discount, I don't qualify.

Yes, I understand that the military refers to them as weapons because they certainly don’t buy them to dig holes in the ground to plant daisies, but I am assuming that Savage78 is a civilian, not a foreign government representative, who is interested in purchasing a rifle for personal target or sport shooting, not for self defence or for joining some private army to use his rifle as a weapon. When the Antis read this sort of thing, terminology is very important.
And in an attempt to actually provide an answer to the OP's question, I don't believe Colt Canada sells directly to the public.
Yohann160 is correct, there are numerous threads on Colt Canada right now, but if you went to Colt Canada’s website, you’ll probably notice that there are no prices listed, no shopping cart, and very little in terms of selling to the public. Most business that sell directly to the consumer will not make it so difficult to accomplish. Plus a quick e-mail to Colt would have answered your query.

There are currently only two rifles produced that are transferrable in Canada: the SA20 and SA15.7
Since Colt Canada is a defence production facility and the military rifles are produced under an existing a manufacturing licence agreement from the US State Department, a separate licence is required for each rifle for the commercial market. No other models are approved for commercial sale at this time.
We are not set up at all to sell to the public directly.

Colt Canada still sells to the public, through distributors. So ya, they don't sell "to the public directly", but they do sell to the public.

And if you're a member of LE/MIL, but you want one of these two rifles for civvie use, contact Korth Group directly.

Who sell the rifles as the distributor for Colt Canada under the Diemaco brand name.
If you are a member of the LE/Mil community, you also will have to go through Korth, as Colt Canada won't sell to you directly as an individual either.
