Colt Delta Elites were all 10mm only (blue or stainless), Combat Elites were .45ACP. They also made a Delta Gold Cup in 10mm. I have seen guys put the Delta grips (black rubber w/ red triangles) on other 1911's though. I guess it looks cool

Have had a couple different blued Colt Delta Elites in 10mm. Still have one...
Buddy has a stainless Colt Delta Gold Cup 10mm but he won't part with it...
But never seen a Colt Delta Elite in .45 ACP. Don't think there is such a thing...

Kimber sell a 1911 with ajustable sight, stainless Steel in 10 MM.
We ended up craking the frame of a Delta at a round count of aprx 5000,on one used with full power load. Do not know if this was a reason for it's demise..or just one occurance.

The early Delta Elites had problems with frame cracking by the hole cut below the rail for the slide release
Later production had the whole area cut through the rail to eliminate the cracking.
Not sure if this is what you experienced or not Janeau.
The Delta Elites are my favourite Colt 1911.

It cracked were the recoil spring guide head seat in the frame, just ahead of the barrel link channel. We were using shock buff and the dual spring set up. It was welded up and to this date, my friend still own it but rarely shoot it.
