From what I have read they where Colts first double action auto and not well recieved. There was even an optional factory recall for operational modifications. I know nothing about their function or reliability. I do believe that there are lots of NIB pistols floating around because they were such poor sellers. And if you think they are sleeker than a 1911 you need your head examined...they are FUGLY with a capitol FUG!
But surprisingly Colt must've found a few suckers that think they're cool as they seem to pop up for sale regularly on here. And they even sell from time to time, too.
Personally, I wouldn't own one. [insert smilie throwing up rubber chicken]
I don`t know why everyone is so down on this gun.I owned one and put a couple of hundred rounds through it without a problem and it was damn accurate.
The only reason I sold it was that it has a huge grip and was too big for me to shoot comfortably.
My buddy who posts here as 4090210 or somedamn 40????? whatever still talks about how much he liked to shoot that gun.
Hey ugly guns need love too.
Just to add if you are thinking of buying one try shooting one first.
The recall was to put a clip on the spring under the grip, so that it wouldn't pop off when you took the grips off. They aren't a bad gun at all, basically a DA 1911, you can even swap mags and some prts back and forth. I have one in 10mm, it works fine. - dan
