Hello the forum.

I recently purchased a Gold Cup MKIV Series 80 National Match which has very little wear showing and is very tight.

The serial number is FN348XX. Can anyone with expertise in this area tell me anything about the date of manufacture of this pistol.

Any other pieces of history, experiences and comments would be greatly appreciated.

Colt firearms are the easiest to find information on. Google your model and serial number. I'm sure you'll come up with a lot of info. Also, the person or dealer you bought it from should provide some background information.

BTW that is a FINE pistol, one of the BEST Colt made in that series. I've shot several and all were smooth functioning and extremely accurate up to 25 yards.
