I purchased the Carl Walther Colt licensed Gold Cup Trophy 1911 in 22LR. When I first purchased it, I took it apart, cleaned it, and re-oiled it. Today I used it for the first time. It was great!!!!! I fed it 400 rounds of CCI 22LR HP Mini Mags and it went off without a hitch. No stove-pipping or jamming of any kind. Can't say enough good things about the pistol or the ammunition.

Accuracy was bang on! I was shooting at both paper targets and one of my 9 inch circumference gongs. Recoil from each shot was very low.

I had been looking into buying a 22LR 1911 for a year now with apprehension. Most who bought the GSG 1911's from what I gather were regretful of their purchase.

I can tell you with this Walther made Colt, I have no regrets.

The pistol is light and I believe the slide is aluminium. Not sure about the action. My feeling is it is iron.

Since posting this thread, I have field stripped and cleaned the pistol from todays use. I found the pistol to be a lot less dirty than what I thought it would be as my understanding is that 22LR ammo is generally filthy. Looks like the CCI Mini Mag stuff is good stuff and generally clean. I spent about 20 minutes on cleanup and re-oiling.
