Colt having light primer strikes in DA

Hi all, I have a colt 1892 DA in 41. Long colt, which is in good mechanical condition. She’s my everyday shooter, but I’ve always had trouble using it in double action. Single action I’ve never had any issues, but on double action I will have a light primer strike every 1 in 2 or 1 in 3 shots.

I handload my ammo using CCI small pistol primers, seated flush against the cartridge. I’ve been told seating too deeply may be the cause; my next batch will be made with the primers slightly outward to where you can feel it rubbing against the bottom of the cartridge, but still within the tolerance of the cylinder.

So my question is, has anybody else experienced this, where single action is perfect but DA is not? I also suspect it could be a spring issue with the hammer being not fully brought back before releasing on DA. I will be giving it a polish to make sure there is no debris on the pin. Thanks!

Chris
