Hi fellas,
I have a few guns that I am selling off and one of them is a Colt HBAR Target Match (6601) from the mid-1990s that has had exactly 120 rounds through it, it is in excellent to mint condition and I just want to know what a fair price would be to sell it? Thank you so much for any insight,

$1200 sounds about right, but it might sell for slightly less. I am not a expert but I think your rifle has the sear hole/plug and non standard pin sizes. That would make it less desirable.

These rifles sell for less than their actually worth imho
First they are a Colt Secondly they are tack drivers from my experience
With higher end AR prices the way they are they should thier value
I would say $1200. Would be fair on both ends

Yes, I agree with you guys, thank you so much for your thoughts, I do appreciate it!
I’m going to put it up for sale on the exchange and if it doesn’t sell I’ll keep it…
Even with these 54-year-old eyes, I’ve shot just over 1-1/2” groups with factory ammo with this thing…
It’s very accurate,

Back about a dozen years ago I swapped out the carrying handle receiver for a flat top and put and Elcan on mine. As noted above they're very accurate rifles—I won a couple of our club's 300m ISU matches with mine. I should've kept mine stock, though, as the resale value took a bit of a hit.

The Colt HBAR was my first AR15 that I bought in the late 80's, $450.00 if I recall correctly, which was quite a bit of money at the time. They were non-restricted and no mag restrictions either. They are top tier rifles and I would not sell mine even though I acquired/build lots more AR15's over the years. Perceived drawbacks are the non-standard front pivot pin/hole and the slabsided lower. These are minor issues IMHO. I have a conversion pin for the front hole that allows me to put any upper on the lower if desired. However, I just shoot the rifle as is with the iron sights and use my other ARs with red dots and scopes in various competitions. Unless you need the money, just hold on to it.

Late 80s wasnt too long ago.....look at where we are now

I picked up a flat top Colt Hbar in a trade about 10 years ago. Wonderful rifle. Truly a tack driver. What's it worth now? Probably a less than I originally valued it at 10 years ago. The price for these things has been stagnant for a while, and in some cases, backsliding vs inflation.
