colt id help please!

If your serial # starts with a C then you have the commercial model mfg'd sometime in 1914. If there is no C then you have a government model mfg'd sometime in 1912 probably for the USN.

Judging by this statement one "may assume" that yours was part of a shipment to Canada. The again out of the 11199 total within that range only 5000 were shipped here. In any event it seems you have a piece of history. Hope you got a good deal.
