Colt King Cobra value?

What would be the value of a stainless steel Colt King Cobra with a 6-in. barrel? The gun is in excellent condition and the round count is very low.

These two recently sold in the Toronto based online auction referred to in the thread below for $1190 and $1250 plus applicable taxes.

Within the past year I have seen them going as high as $1800-2K in some of Switzer's auctions although that seemed very high to me.

The "snake name" seems to add a lot to the price at times.

Prices of Colt snakes went down in the last couple years. I remember 4-5 years ago Pythons were selling for $3k and up depending on finish and condition. I just sold a late 70’s Python in VG/excellent condition for about $2k, this one would have fetch close to $3k few years ago.

I would say $1200 for a stainless KC in excellent condition. Add ~$200 for one in bright stainless and ~$1500 for the rare royal blue finish. An enhanced version made for about a year with a crowned barrel muzzle and larger grips would also fetch a little more.

A “shooter grade” SS 6” Colt just sold very quickly listed at $1350. You’d sell it NP at $1500 or more, but a lot of people will tell you it’s worth less...
