any thoughts on those ? any reasons not to buy ? my first .22 so not much experience, just buying to save money on ammo and have some fun, not looking to win trophies.

thanks.

I looked at it the other day at p and d, although its nice it still feels cheap like the sw mp 22. Its also restricted, I ended up going with the sr-22

I personally would stay away from it not because of quality but because of only being limited to using it at the range plus ATT hasles. I actually regret getting my restricted license.....

If you can get one I recommend them. I'm a huge Colt fan but besides that the gun is a lot of fun. Feels solid and is almost identical to the real Colt M4. The only thing I don't like about it is cleaning the trigger group and bolt. Nothing is removable and they recommended just spraying it down which doesn't get all the fouling and burnt powder out so cleaning for me takes extra time to get it nice and clean. Lots of reviews on youtube to help you decide what tacticool .22 is right for you. Good luck and post pics of whatever you decide on!

Because of the restricted fact I went with the sr-22. If you're set on it because of the looks just go with an AR.

I have no idea how it shoots though.

i have an ar, but want to shoot .22, are the .22 kits for .223 ar15 better than a complete rifle designed for .22 ? i dont care about rest/non-rest, ill probably only shoot at a range now.

too much hassle shooting in the forest around GTA. people complain, cops show up, wasted time explaining and going though paperwork, screw that - off to the range.

Personnaly I preferred the Smith & Wesson in 22 caliber but since it's also restricted I decided to order the new issue of the VTR 597 with the Black Collapsible Stock, Quad Rail and Heavy Barrel (Model : 80882).

Apparently that all the small problems that where known with the previous are corrected.

Just bought a Colt and will post pics as it is completed with add ons. SR looks nice but just does not cut it for me(it is a juiced up 10/22),and the M&P looks even better but also just not close enough to a true AR.This is not to say the Colt is without flaws:
- bolt release is non-functioning
-upper cannot be removed by hand must use drift pin
-safety selector does a 180 degree turn
- extra mags are pricey
-restricted
I am changing the handguards, grip and adding a red dot scope.
To those that will say get a real one, I already have one.

I put thousands of round of .22 ammo throught a cobray ar15 .22 conversion kit before the ar15 became restricted and found it to be well worth the cost. At 25 yard pistol range it was fun.

I took my Colt .22 to the range for the first time this weekend and have say I am impressed. I used four different types of ammo and never had even one problem with any of them. I shot around 400 rds. It was a ton of fun. Next up-cheap red dot...

I looked at (and played with) the S&W also but I feel the Colt was more solid feeling plus the troubles I have heard them having.... I went Colt.
