Colt m4 6920

If you want the sport model (SP6920), they're circulating around (check the EE). If you want a LE6920, don't hold your breath and keep your eyes peeled cause they're not common.

Colt has stopped producing the LE6920's (this is official). Most of the US Distributors have sold out what they had and no more are "coming" to them so sourcing an LE6920 is becoming more and more difficult in the US.

Last I saw CDNN was advertising their "Last shipment of LE6920's" but they are probably gone by now?

Except for the SP6920's that Reliable has I don't know of any Canadian dealers with LE6920's.

Think you need to do some research; you'll find that all the rifles are in fact MANUFACTURED by "Colt Defence" no matter whether they are marked "Defence" or "Manufacturing".

Yes. I don't think there is any qualitative difference between the two. If there is, it is minor, and for the most part irrelevant.

IMHO, anyone buying a Colt 6920 LE, is doing so for collecting purposes, as there is significant hype surrounding these rifles. I'm not arguing that the 6920 is a high quality AR, there are just better value AR's out there, as well as "boutique" AR's that do the job better. Therefore, the LE stamp is important to someone paying $2500 to $3000 for a bare bones milspec AR.

I think Reliable is slightly misadvertising those AR'S. Most discerning buyers want the LE stamp.
 
The Sp6920 and the LE6920 are the same thing - I really do not think there are much differences. They are good ARs. Colt Defence, Colt manufacturer.....it is just setup for liability, operation and probably tax purposes.

I totally agree, but I'd wager money that if you were to sell the two rifles side by side, that the LE stamped rifles would all sell first. In fact you could charge a $500 premium, and the LE rifles would still sell first. In people's minds, there is just smidge of doubt as to the quality of a rifle marketed for sporting purposes vs. sold to LE/Mil.

I suspect that Colt is positioning itself to do 3 things:

1. make an actual impact in the HUGE US AR market, where the LE marking has actually hindered them in some markets

2. pre-empt expected ledgislative action by the Obama administration against "non-sporting" arms

3. revive a trademark
