Would you stop torturing my poor soul with 52's and National Matches Mid-Range. I bought myself a 52-2 from EE about 2 months ago and I haven't been able to try it for lack of ammo. I had to set up for reloading first. I was dreaming of a Colt and a guy at the range let me try his 52. Result: Xs and 10s. I had to get one. The trigger was out of this world. I still think of getting a Colt, but it's not gonna be anytime soon. I have so many things to buy for the house before. (That's what the GF says) Will post range report ASAP.
I've had both (mid 50's NM and a first gen 52). I never found an accuracy difference in my hands, 52 was easier to shoot (again, in my hands) though. - dan

Know how you feel... Everything is nice and dandy shooting 9's and 10's... then your concentration drops for a moment and off comes a 4!
I kind of fixed that with another rear sight blade that I opened up... Having more 'light' and a better sight pictures got rid of most of the flyers

It is true the 52 is not forgiving. It demands you pay attention and follow through, if you do that it offers you many advantages, if you don't pay attention, bye bye.
Someone above posted that they had an first generation 52, they were a converted double action, not quite are refined as the subsquent 52-1 and 52-2, but execellent none the less.
