I've always liked the Colt Peacemaker 22 but after seeing a Ruger Single Six (old style no adjustable sights) I think I would be happy with one of those too. Any thoughts on the two guns? How about the older Single Six compared with new production. TC

The Colt will likely cost you a pretty penny, will retain the higher initial purchase price, and you may not wind up shooting it because of that. The Rugers are made to be used!
The old model Single Sixes would be at least as good as the new ones. The old models (pre-transfer bar) are desireable. They are all rock solid.

I'm a fan of nostalgia...but appreciate evolution as well.
I holster my SS at the range and the transfer bar gives me peace of mind when competing at the weekend .22 shoots.
As for Colt vs Old SS...(and this is just from my personal observation)...I've been to many gun shows and can never find a nice condition .22 Peacemaker.
I have much better luck with the old SS.
My two cents...don't get hung up on Colt...I'd much prefer the Rugers.
