Hey guys,

I picked this up a while back with some other stuff. I have NO idea what it is or who made it. Is it a modern Colt or a modern Italian copy? (Uberti etc...?) From what the reg cert says it is a Colt Dragoon (.44 percussion). Any comments/suggestions would help.

Many [like me] opine that the second series of Colts, made by the Colt's Manufacturing etc. are almost as good as the real thing. As you can read, the major parts were made by in Italy by the highly-respected Uberti company and shipped to the US for finishing so that they could be called 'Made in the USA' without much argument.

I have their Colt Walker from 1980, serial #1816, and regularly shoot it, when I can get up the strength to hold it. Like any other form of BP revolver/pistol that front-loads, it's about the only way that 99.9999% of us handgun shooters hre in yUK can get to shoot a real handgun these days that still looks like a regular handgun.

Try around 40gr of FFg and a .451" ball to get going. Usual warnings apply to your use of your firearms.
