I have a Colt Police Positive in .22 WRF in OK shape. Because I have no ammunition for it, I can't shoot it. It isn't pristine so has limited collectors value, and has minor sentimental value to me.

I was thinking that a machinist/gunsmith could slieve the cylinders and rebore for .22 LR.

Has anyone had experience with this or something similar?

Winchester has made runs of 22WRF ammo on occasion and you can find these from cartridge dealers and gun show vendors, I have paid anywhere from $10 to $30 per box of 5o rounds. I am not sure of the value of your original Colt revolver but you may be further ahead to sell it and buy something like the Ruger Single Six rather than convert your Colt. D.H.

I've cut the rims off of fired magnums and used the tube as a sleeve for the LR's, bore is generally close enough.
