colt SAA serial numbers?

Hi, I just bought a colt SAA 3nd gen that was made in the last few years, I think. I've tried looking on-line for the year of production, but met with little success. Also can anyone tell me about any changes that colt has made to the firearm, I know about the cylinder bushing, between the start of production and now with regard to the 3nd gen?

Call Colt directly - they will tell you when your gun was made.

A Colt historical letter costs $100. If all you need is to find out the date of manufacture, you can just call Colt and they'll give it to you for free.
 
I was aware of the factory letter, but I was under the impression that was all they offered. I think I'll be calling them on Monday. :) Thanks
