I have a Colt SAA with 7 inch barrel and a reblued cylinder. Serial number is 2088SA. I think it is from 1955. I am thinking of selling it. What is it worth right now?

He is not selling stuff.. he is asking how much it is worth.... now he may very likely get a PM with an offer and he may sell it but he is not advertising the gun for sale as of yet.

A suggestion: Goto the exchange section and "search" something like " SINGLE ACTION COLT" or some variation and see what others are asking and see if they are selling after one post or do they have to keep bumping and lowering their price. It may give you a ball park idea of the market price.
 
I belive the Colt was made in 1956.Next time take the picture in natural light without the flash. The flash washes out caseharden colours on the frame. I would ask for $1200 but most buyers would want to look it over. Ray.
 
Yes the prices are crazy, I lucked out a few years ago and purchased a circa 1903 SAA in .45 colt w. 5.5"bbl for $300 but it needed a new hammer and cylinder hand. I even have a bit of its history from Likely/Horsefly area where it was discovered in and abandoned mining cabin in the 1940's. I really should send the serial numbers to colt and get a little more info on it.
 
Damn - finding a colt for $300 is a sweet deal! A historical letter from colt costs $100. US for an SAA (more if it has engraving etc.). Info about letters can be obtained at:

The gun will always be worth an extra $100 with the letter - more if it originally went to a state like Texas - and much more if it went to somebody famous!
