I had purchased this arm unfired and unturned about a year ago. The bluing is good the casehardening is good and most of the fit and finsih is good as well. The hammer spur is fair, this grading I gave is because one side is a little more sloped at the radius and also the knurling is not as deep as it could have been. l have seen deeper knurling on some Pietta's. The back strap is a little wider than some 2nd Generations I have seen. The cylinder mouth is not chamfered enough and will shave leather when being holstered. The rear sight track could be opened up a bit for easier sight acquisition.

It shoots great!! I loaded up about 200rnds of 200 gr. Lead Semi Wad Cutters over 8.5 grs. of Unique and boy was I happy with the results.
It shoots about 2.5 below point of aim at 15yds. There was no excess fouling aroung the cylinder mouth or around the forcing cone.
Timing and lock up seemed good. I am no expert but I have 5 single actions and this right out of the box with not being worked on was pleasing.
200 hundred rounds and only a light cleaning prior to shooting produced no sticky rotation of the cylinder during the whole shooting session.

I did not like the black eagle grips as the corner on the left hand panel was a bit raised off of the frame it was sharp and bit me every time till I started to move my thumb down more. Along time ago I was told to place my pinky under neath the plow handle as this would better control the natural roll of the arm under recoil due to the shape of that plow handle and this did indeed help.

The 3rd Generation is said to be (or at least some of them) , not as good as a 2nd or 1st. Maybe not but I sure am happy with the overall fit finish and performance of this individual one. If you see a 3rd and have heard the comment above, don't let it stop you as it had me in the past. I am looking for another now maybe in 44 Speacial or 44/40.
