Anyone now if CM is still in business, or are they just too busy to respond to emails?

On March 8th, I sent them an email asking if they would offer bulk pricing on an order of between 10,000 to 50,000 cartridges(I've just finished my black badge course and I've got a few friends who want to stock up for the season). I also tried phoning, but the voicemessage said something to the effect that they are busy and won't always respond to voicemail, so I figured I'd stick with emails. A week later, still no response from them. So, I thought that maybe they thought I was just kicking the tires and asking questions about bulk pricing without being serious about buying(I am serious about buying bulk, shooting commercial ammo for IPSC is hard on the wallet).

Yesterday I sent them another email to place an order for a few cases at their list price(Wanted to try the stuff first before stocking up with the big order). Still no response.

Anyway, I had wanted to keep my business closer to home(I'm in Vancouver), so as to save on shipping. But, at this point it looks like CM either isn't getting my emails or they aren't interested in my business.

So, I just emailed Wolf. Hopefully I'll have better luck with them...

Anyone else have a similar experience? Does CM only sell to friends and people they've met in person?

My only complaint with Combat Masters is the almost complete lack of communication. You kind of place your order and hope it arrives in a timely manner...

I talked to him yesterday. Asked a few questions about his different loads and such. I got the feeling that he is more interested in his leo/military runs than in selling to the general shooter. He said he would be better at answering my questions and possibly filling an order if he had any left overs after his contracts. Email is yet unanswered! Anyone know where I can get a reasonable deal on 10thousand 9mm and a couple thousand 45acp?

To be fair to Combat Master, they are trying to increase production capacity but I think they are still 10-20% behind the demand.
I found e-mail is the only way that works but it can take up to 3-4 weeks before they have a chance to response.
Also, you are ordering during the busy season so everyone is placing their order right now. He told me the best time to order was around Nov to Jan but with demand going up - I am not sure there will be a slow season.
If you are ordering Low Lead, the production run must be done during low humidity. Therefore, if the humidity goes up, he will not run the Low Lead production (I have waited 3 months for Low Lead before).
I do agree a larger order will get his interest (less switching on the machine). However, I also heard that LE is ordering from him for practising ammo so he may be doing a huge run right now.
What calibre are you looking for? I know he usually shows up at the Calgary Gun "Show" at Stampede Ground.

I hate to be an assh@le, but three to four weeks to answer an email? Any other kind of business that took three to four weeks to respond to a client would be bankrupt in todays economy. I realise his money makers are the huge orders, but an assumtion would be the machines run steady. You would think there would some stock but maybe not.

4 weeks......what the ####! YOU ARE THE CUSTOMER!! NEVER FORGET THAT !!

Almost all CGN dealers reply within 1 or 2 days. Sometimes i get replies within an hour. I would NEVER wait 4 weeks for a simple reply!

As much as it sucks to be left in the dark and ignored, for me the final purchase decision will be made based on price/quality. Yup, it does sting to think that I'm so unimportant that this vendor can't be bothered to get back to me, but ultimately I'd overlook that if his prices are better and his quality is better. Plus, I know what it's like to be so swamped with work that the last thing you want to do is talk to another client(I'm not saying it's ok to ignore potential clients, I'm just saying I can understand what may be going on in this guy's head).

That being said, I'm going to try to contact Custom Reloading, as recommended by CanAm, and try to get a smaller testing sample order of their ammo. I'm a little nervous about going with less well known suppliers, as I've heard horror stories of double charges or squib loads made by smaller suppliers running Dillon 1050's out of their basements. But, if the Custom Reloading ammo goes "bang!" reliably, and the prices are good, then I'll keep my orders closer to home...

If the company is legally reloading ammo for public sale they have to be licensed by the government. How many reloading companies are out there in Canada for public ammo sales? If anyone knows the name and contact info could they please put it up?

I've spoken to John at Custom Reloading and I plan on picking up 500 cartridges of 147gr TMJ for $120. That's more than Combat Masters charges, but John's local and he answered my call.

Dysnk: John will be at DVC this coming Thursday night if you want to meet up with us. If you want, I'll cut you a box of whatever I buy from him so you can see how your shadow likes it...

ps. Can I try the new trigger job? Please??? :)

I don't know if that number included the tax. I'll find out on Thursday. I'm not too worried about the price of this first batch, I just want to see if it's decent quality and shoots well in my ipsc gun. If I like it, then I'll try to work out a bulk deal.
