I am looking for any information on what everyone thinks would be a good combination rangefinder and binocular. To be used for hunting ranges 500 yards and less.
If you have one and have used it in the field your info on price and useability would be appreciated.
regards Tim

Leica Geovids are without a doubt the best but are in the two thousand dollar range. the Leupold and Bushnell units have been bulky with entry level performance. Bushnell is supposed to be bringing out a new bino/rangefinder in the near future that will address these issues. Phil.

Does anyone have any experience using either the Bushnell yardage pro Quest or the Leupold rb800. I have found prices ranging from $410.00 and up for the Quest and $520.00 for the Leupold rb800. That is new in the box prices, Ebay has bidding for less but then you take your chances.
If anyone has a better price let me know.

The Leica Geovid is an excellent rangefinder as well as a superb binocular, that said not a lot of folks have $2700.00 to spend. The Leica 900 and 1200 model range finders are very good at ranging and come with excellent optics compared to any of the Bushnell models. Nikon has a couple of range finders that too have great optics and range well.
Helping with advise on a possible purchase is difficult when you don't know what a persons budget is for optics? FS
