This would appear to be a chopped USGI glass stock fitted w/ the grip & adjustable butt from a Sage stock, everyone agree?

Looks like a standard synthetic (fibreglass) USGI stock with a rear adapter. I've seen that one online, I am fairly sure the owner made it himself (not Sage).

Apparently SAGE makes an adaptor with stock like that for the 870 , someone a while ago mentioned finding one on ebay and put it in the picture thread .

My question would be with it being so close to the receiver how will it handle the recoil impulse of an unknown number of rounds without breaking .

that is my dream stock right there. sage is too heavy, but I absolutely love the retractable stock.

mmmm might have to make a project of this, or see if the doc can make up a cut usgi stock with the ability to accept the 870 version of the retractable stock and handle.

mmmmmm so delicious.

I tried making one using that Sage Rem870 butt stock and a Chu wood stock that I cut. Didn't work for me because the wood stock was too wide for the buttstock to slide. I tried cutting some chanels into the side of the stock but it just wasn't working for me. I eventually sold the Sage to a shotgunner here.

There was another gunnut that had the same idea as me but he went a different route. He dremeled off the retracting portion of the Sage and made the adapter plate wider and re-welded it all back together. The stock then had enough width to slide forward. (or something to that effect:))

There's a picture of it buried here somewhere. This was in 2005 or 06
