Comments: Beretta Cheetah 86 .380

What's wrong with a p7? That's my mini gun. 9mm sure beats the anemic .380

You should have seen James Bond take down guys with his 380 :p

Didn't know the Cheetah was made in Restricted length of 111mm until I saw this thread. I doubt there are many around.

There was one in the EE just last week, and the guy wanted something obscene like $1500. I have a Browning BDA .380 (12/6 made by Beretta) and paid $400 and it came with the original box of ammo the guy bought when he got the gun and it had 5 rounds fired. It is a sweet gun, but you better understand that .380 ammo is about $20 a box.

After the HK P7 I'd say try the SIG P239 for small frame but still full bore 9mm.

The least expensive small frame .380 will be an FN 1910 (extended .380) or 1922 (.380). You could probably buy 3 for your Beretta price, and mags are at Tradex for cheap. The 7.65 / .32 mags feed .380 just fine.

Here, 9mm can be as low as $12.50 for a box of 50, while .380 can be as low as $22.50 for a box of 50...

I have a couple of prohib Cheetahs in .22, and a factory threaded barrel that could make at least one of them restricted, if I could find the darned thing. That and a couple of months' wait... Even prohib .22 Cheetahs are pricey. They're nice little pistols though, one is still new in the box. That would be the only Cheetah I would buy at this point: the .22.

What the heck has happened to the prices of .32 ACP and .380 ACP? I still have some with $14 stickers on it.

Supply, Demand and Time... I agree, the Sig P239 is a fantastic compact pistol that shoots a better caliber.

Sig P239 sold in Canada comes with an extended threaded barrel that meets legal length. If you are not concerned about caliber consider the Browning 1911-22. Yes it's a .22 LR but is TINY and is one of few slim little non 12.6 pistols you can buy without converting an old one with a barrel liner...plus it's new so you should be able to get spare parts.
