Looking to see if there is a Canadian source for parts for a commerical Mauser 98 action, more specifically a Parker Hale. Found a place in the USA that sells aftermarket pieces for the m98 but won't ship to canada.

Anyone know of a source?

Thanks

Parker Hale used a series of M98 Mauser type actions. Generally speaking, unless their detachable magazine system was used, they employed a diecast triggerguard/magazine unit. Because the basic action is standard large ring Mauser based, any trigger guard/magazine assembly for a standard M98 could be adapted. One of my rifles is set up with a PH action, and a military M98 lower assembly. There are a couple of variations in the front tang of the trigger guard, in commercial units. This affects stock inletting, not mechanical function.
As far as aftermarket commercial units are concerned, there are expensive - milled from a block - steel ones, as well as diecast alloy ones. WGP might have something, check Brownells, e-gunparts.com.

This is the turd I'm going to polish, needs work but I think is a solid starting point!

It is a detachable magazine, the guy had a CIL there with the same action and set-up, the magazine slid in.

So now to decide on weather to keep the DM or change to hinged floorplate, he also had a browning with the same action that had hinged bottom metal so I believe alot of compaines made rifles with this action, parts should be fairly easy to find right?

I also need a stock this one is cracked big time and held together with a bubba'd nut and bolt through the grip.

I was going to ask what the bolt was for...
ETA..when you strip it..you need to knock the pin out and remove the mag release button. There is an allen head screw up in the trigger guard that holds the front part of the trigger guard on.
I'll save you the 30 minutes I spent figuring that out.

I don't need a clip fed gun, I am looking for bottom metal for a hinged floorplate but I don't want the old military recessed push button style, I'm looking for something that is more modern where the floorplate release is easier to trip.

That being said if I find a replacement clip than I might go that way too..

You'll have to excuse me, I don't know much about M98 actions so I don't know what is avaliable, especially in canada.

I'm going to go see a gunsmith tomorrow and see if he has anything.

any further recommendations will be much appreciated

Thanks for the heads up, I was wondering how they magically held the pieces together:)
