This may belong under the reloading section, however as we ie: M-1A1 owners and shooters, what do you find
in commercial brass to be the better, other than mil-spec, for multi reloads.
Thanks for reply's and HAPPY NEW YEAR to all.

For Commercial brass I used Winchester brass when possible. I have also used R-P, Norma, and Federal. I would stay away from Federal brass if at all possible. Federal brass is notorious for the primer pockets becoming slopply/loose after even one firing...........

For Military brass, I use Lake City and Lake City Match brass......

You have to keep in mind that Military brass has less case volume as it is thicker and softer then commercial brass..........

I bought 100 brand new Winchester cases years ago and used them for 20 firings out of a Custom built M1A match rifle. I inspected them and Full length sized them and trimmed the cases every 3 or so firings. After the 20th firing I simply chucked them as they had paid for themselves and didn't want to push my luck any further..........I would not recommend going more the 5 - 6 firings on brass........

20.....20!?

20.

Yeah winchester

I've gotten 20+ out of R-P. Using light loads tho.

The winchester I've used went wonky. For some reason after a while the necks would no longer keep tension.
I'd size them down, they'd spring back loose. Can't remember if I had annealed them.

I have some tricks up my sleeve, reloading for my M305, my special prepped R-P brass gets retired at 18 with life still left in them.

I used to use Winchester for all my brass, but have now switched to PRVI brass when I can get it. The newer Winchester stuff seems to suffer from poor QC at times while the PRVI has been nothing but excellent in several cartridges. That said, I have a fair amount of Winchester 30-06 brass with 5-6 loads through my Garand with few problems.
