I am considering buying a new better quality compact rimfire scope for a CZ455 scout, however it seems that compact rimfire scopes are not so easily obtained. I have a Leupold FX-1 28mm 4Xx scope which it 9.2" long on a Ruger 10/22 take down, which because of its size will still will fit in the takedown bag. I also have a Leupold VX-1 2-7x28mm scope on a CZ455, this scope is 10" long and as such I did not have to remove the rear sight to mount the scope. The newer Leupold VX-Freedom rimfire scopes are about an inch longer than the VX-1 rimfire scope that they replaced, which requires removing the rear sight or sight blade from the barrel. In fact Leupold no longer details the overall length of these older model scopes on the website. The FX-1 is also very difficult to find in Canada at the present time.
