hey there hi there ho there neighbor!
so today i got my new Smith and Wesson M&P 9 Pro CORE in the 5"
and i decided to go to the range and compare it to my main shooter - the S&W M&P 9mm
i have to say that right out of the gate I LOVE THE NEW BACKSTRAP!!!
the texture on that new backstrap is fantastic!
i really hope they start to sell those after market so i can put those on all my other M&P's
comparing the 2 guns is pretty much exactly what i was expecting there to be for differences.
the Pro Core has the optics ready cut out on the top.
dont have any optics for it yet, next month!
the stock sites are a LOT higher then the normal sites.
easily 2x3 times higher.
the slide is an inch or so longer, which is what we would expect being that the barrel is longer.
other then that the gun is the same.
i was kinda hoping that the frame would be the same as the 45 frame with the serrations on the front as well as the back just because im a left handed shot and i prefer to use the front so i can visualize into the gun when i cycle it.
now, what i wasnt expecting.
ive been shooting my M&P 9 for a couple years and love it.
im no great shot but i really enjoy the hobby.
right out of the box i had gone from about a 6" circle group at 15 yards (45 feet) to about half that.... right out of the box!!!
only thing i can think is that that extra inch on the barrel and the higher iron sites with the little nicer feeling trigger has improved my grouping for me.
enough talk, here is a quick video i made out in the rain and a couple pics of the new toy.
enjoy!
(and it was windy and raining in the video, sorry about all the noise!)
