was out horsing with the marlin a bit this morning. that thing is accurate! hole through hole. only problem is, it is kinda finicky which i have heard is the norm. fortunately, it feeds winchester usa brand sp's no problem. just hope i can find someone to order some of these in for reloading, noticed wholesale doesn't stock them , but has the hollowpoints. if the 265 hornady's work as well, and they should due to their profile, a guy is pretty much set i would imagine. really like the throw on the marlin, tight and crisp. factory sights are nice too.

the winchester, is not quite as accurate (did a couple through the same hole), but i cannot truly judge it yet due to the incredibly s**tty sights winchester decided to put on the gun, i have to replace the rear sight. crude and coarse, they are desinged for those with glasses or for the antiquated among us. TERRIBLE! neat thing about the winchester though, it will feed everything without a hitch, utterly reliable.

will follow up once i replace the the atrocious crap winchester calls sights on the 94.

actually i will pose a question, does anyone else not find the rifle sights on older rifles better? i have an old 94 30 wcf and find those sights worlds better.

also, is the profile of the 240 sp by reminton similar to the winchester?

Find you a good heavy hitting, WFN or LFN cast bullet up to 325grs., that feeds good, and you will have a less expensive round and a far more capable cartridge.

is the 240 gr bullet insufficient? those heavier bullets would work marvelously in the winchester no doubt, but i am skeptical that the marlin would feed them reliably.

update: feeds 265 hornady interlock and 300 gr xtp no problem, woohoo!:)
