Are 2 3/4" barreled Remington 870 recievers capable of just having a 3" barrel dropped onto them and firing 3" shells (ie can I put a 3" barrel on an old Wingmaster)? Also, can something be done to cylinder bore barrels to add a choke, other than attaching a Poly Choke? Thanks for your help.

As for chokes, if the barrel walls are thick enough you can ream it and thread it for screw in chokes. If the barrel walls are too thin then you can make an adapter that gets silver soldered on that takes screw in chokes.

The older 2 3/4" receivers will not eject the 3" shell. You would have to replace the ejector assy.

You can use a 3" chambersed barrel with 2 3/4" shells.
