Hello im needing advice on an install of a compensator on a 308.ive been given a crush washer to time it ,is this ok or does anyone have tips? Ive read just lock tight and center it and let harden as to not put presure on the barrel. Im new at this so any advice as to what is the best way would be great thx.

Pressure on the barrel won't hurt anything. A good barrel adapter to mount it in a vise without damage would be nice. Just don't crank on it using the stock to hold it.

Thx for your reply!i sanded down the beveld side i little bit as it was way off and snugged it up good with some blue lock tight i think it will be fine. Thx again

Doesn't heat break the bonds of locktite? (red and blue)? If so, putting it on a barrel would seam to be useless.

I just snug mine down and leave it alone. Haven't had one move yet on any of my rifles
