Hello,

This will be my first time taking a pistol apart further then just removing the slide, barrel, ect. There are lots of videos on Youtube, so I should be able to do it without problem.

I am taking it apart mostly to see if it needs cleaning(but also for fun). I've put 2000 rounds through it and the trigger sounds kind of gritty to me.

I am wondering what I should do as far as maintenance goes while I have it fully apart. I would think to clean anything that looks dirty with my cleaning solution, but I am wondering what I should oil after wards?

Thanks!

You probably have an an oily rag that you wipe the guns down with prior to putting away, use that rag to wipe down each part. That way the parts have the surfaces oiled, but not excessively. Then lube according to manual.

Thanks for the responses so far.

The manual says " a further dissembling of the pistol, may only be made by a qualified person."

I'll go with the oily rag, but if anybody knows some spots that could use more than that, please let me know. I always hear people lube their guns too much, so I'll try to keep it light.

Good luck...... Take great care to inspect how it comes apart.....
Thought i got mine sorted, took four trips to the range and it wouldnt cycle. Turned out to be the main spring, little tricky, cant get the position from the you tube, and so had to figure it out.. If you get stuck, pm me and ill talk you through it...
Just possible your not the idiot i am and will get it first time......
Here's hoping...

Dump all the parts in paint thinner that wasn't plastic, swish, sit for 10 minutes, swish again, wipe clean. Light oil on all moving parts. Grease or heavy oil will just attract all the junk from the 22 ammo to fowl up the gun in no time flat.

Nice that the GSG is very similar to a 45ACP 1911 80's series with the pin safety so easy to disassemble. I took out the mag safety (silly device) and grind down the grip safety to disable it as my 22 is for beginners that often find the grip safety cumbersome.
