Hi everybody,

I earlier mentioned in another post that I know of a source of complete Lithgow SMLE Coach Wood Stock sets for sale, I have started to get a bunch of members sending me PM's so I am now letting everybody in on it.

I was viewing a Australian Military parts website that I go to every now and then and noticed they had some of these stock sets for sale at a smoking good deal price of only $65 AUD. They deal with Canadians and will ship here. I believe the quantity is limited so I would not wait long to order a set if you need one to restore your Lithgow SMLE.

This is the site - http://www.jansa.com.au/ausmilit2.html

These should go quick at this price so good luck,

BTW, anybody who orders a set please post how much they quote shipped to Canada for others considering this option.

Very interesting. They would be the only business I know of selling coachwood stocks in Australia and they would easily double that price just selling locally. Seems odd.

Wow, your right, they closed up shop in 2012. Wonder why they still have a functional website? and with no mention of their closing on it. Sorry if I got anybody hopes up too much.

Yeah just got a reply from them, they no longer deal in gun parts.

Oh, so they didn't close up business, just stopped selling firearms and parts then? Maybe they gave up with all the BS involved in dealing in Firearms and their parts in Australia and settled on just moving antique stuff. All the governments and the anti's are slowly trying to stop us owning, using and collecting firearms, they want us to all be obediant slaves without any means to defend ourselves or our quickly disappearing freedoms.

I always thought they had cool stuff.

Yep I thought it highly unlikely coachwood stocks would be available at all let alone that price. All surplus supplies have dried completely in Australia and they usually only come up for sale when someone has busted up a rifle. You'd be lucky to find a forend alone for under 150. Ebays your best chance unless you know a collector who's been stock piling parts.
It's funny, parts suppliers and eBay sellers bust up good complete matching rifles to supply the market for restoring sporters that will always be mismatched. Doesn't make sense.

I know what you mean, I know of a couple of dealers who will break down nice complete all matching guns to sell as parts to people who are too cheap to just buy the complete gun. They end up almost making double for the parts compared to the complete gun, and the buyer spends almost half the price for what the gun is worth but ends up with a miss matched gun which lowers it complete price.

Be careful when buying unused coachwood forends. Most Ive seen were marked Slaz43 and most of these were flawed. The barrel channel was machined off centre causing a misalignment that can't be rectified as far as I could determine. It's common thought in Australia that these were a rejected batch that somehow got sold off as surplus to needs.
