Who makes the best lightweight strong stock? Must be available in Canada, and made for the Remington 721 and 700 long action. (300Wby. length).
Flimsy plastic molded stocks need not apply.:)

Since this will go under a custom rifle and slightly heavier that factory bbl. it will have to be made of a material that can be worked; it will probably be necessary to add or remove a bit in at least the bbl. channel.

Keyword is light.

If you want a drop-in, with no work, McMillan EDGE is the way to go. Wildcat stocks are light and made in Canada, but there is some finishing work involved.

Robertson Composites silhouette stock is listed at 22 oz. Thinking about getting one for one of my varmint rifles to make it more comfortable to haul around when coyote hunting.

Thanks a lot guys; I've had a look at all suggestions and am leaning toward the Robertson Composite and the Wildcat because they're made in Canada.
The McMillan looks and sounds excellent too, but I'd have to find a Canadian dealer for the import.

Any of these would certainly fill the bill at around 22 oz.:) That's a lot lighter than the custom Rienhadt Fajen stock that's on the rifle now.

My son has the rifle now, after I hunted with it for almost 40 Years. He can climb and pack like nobody's business, but realizes that lighter is better.
Thanks again!
